adamori alley: Re-render Version

A re-render version of the Adamori Alley. This one, I took the advice suggested to me from the pervious version (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?p=6161897#post6161897) and used the Mental Ray Sun & sky for the light, and reassigned the normal Maya material with mia_material. Though I am still playing around with the node.

While I tried to model the scene in toon-style, my texturing is closer to realism ... so I guess I am doing cartoony-real image

This one was a great exercise for me to develop a style for myself that I am comfortable working with. Many thanks for the help and support from the fellow members @ CGSociety!!

I was trying to do some environmental illustration for practice. The style I was going for is inspired by the landscape of the old Quebec City.
Most textures are rendered from the photoshop filter, but procedural and texture maps were used. The vegetation came from Paint Effect in Maya.
The entire project took about 2 weeks. In the process I learn a fair amount about Mental Ray and I wish to learn more on the rendering technique in order to be efficient in rendering.

I used procedural texture for the most part of the watch. The face of the watch is map texture, and he text around the frame of the watch and the leather wristband are bump maps used with a mental ray material.
